My Monster

Moving on from the punctuation work that we did yesterday, we are going to use it in our work today. Alongside this, we are going to use lots of adjectives (describing words). There are 3 steps that I need you to follow with this:

  1. Draw a picture of your monster, they can look anyway you wish.
  2. Write 8 sentences about your monster, describing how they look.
  3. Make sure your sentences are correctly punctuated.

Check below for some ideas to help you with your description.

Popping Punctuation

We have looked at lots of different types of punctuation this year:

  • Finger spaces
  • Full stops
  • Capital letters
  • Question marks
  • Exclamation marks
  • Commas
  • Apostrophes

It’s really important for us to use the correct punctuation in our writing to help it be clear and make sense to the reader.

It shows the reader where our sentences start and finish and makes what we are saying easy to understand.

Have a go at the questions below:

Can you write some of your own sentences using each of the punctuation pieces we’ve learned about? Use what you’ve done during lockdown to help you with ideas!
