Nursery

Welcome to Kensington Nursery

We would like to welcome all our nursery children and families, whether you are continuing or beginning your journey with us. Our goal is to create a safe, secure and welcoming environment for each child so that they have the confidence to make friends, play and explore.  We want to see them grow and develop and provide them with lots of wonderful experiences that help them learn as they play, while also fostering a love for learning that they will continue throughout their educational journey. Thank you for entrusting your child to our care for the coming school year.

Attendance

Although we recognise that attending nursery is not statutory, we believe good attendance is essential if children are to be settled and take full advantage of the learning and development opportunities available to them. At a young age, continuity and consistency are important contributors to a child’s well-being and progress. We also believe that a good attendance routine at nursery sets the pattern for when they move into Foundation stage and their statutory school journey begins.

Establishing regular routines for your children at an early age is extremely important. It will benefit both you and your children as they progress through their school life, and limit the chances of poor attendance, which will have a negative effect on their enjoyment and achievement. Evidence has shown that children who have a smooth and positive start at school remain high achievers throughout their primary education and beyond.

Curriculum

PE and Softplay

Through our PE lessons and Softplay sessions, our children are learning to travel in a range of different ways and use different body parts to move and balance a range of apparatus. They develop different skills; such as throwing, catching, rolling, bouncing, controlling and passing, and participate in basic games activities.

Our PE day is Thursday and Softplay is Friday. Please ensure your child is wearing comfortable clothing on each day.
