Attendance 

Last week's (wc. 14/09/26) attendance was 97.4%

 Thank you to all who are making the effort for their children to be in  school on time every day.

     

 When the children gain 100% attendance for the week then they will earn themselves an extra play time.  

Homework

It is expected that your child brings their book bag to school every day. Adults in school read with children across the year group, however, this is hindered when they do not have their reading book in school and they may miss their turn for that session. We celebrate reading in our school. Please hear your child read at least 4 times per week and log this in their reading diary. This can be when you are cooking a meal, eating breakfast, night-time book to read together, in the car etc... even a few minutes every day can make a massive difference to the progress your child makes in school this year.  When children read 4 times per week they begin to move up out reading rainbow where they can earn rewards and prizes throughout the year in class. 

Homework will be given out each Friday. This will include a piece of maths work and a piece of English work which will need to be brought back by Wednesday of the following week. These will relate to the topics your child is learning about in school. We will also have a multiplication  test each Wednesday and a spelling test each Friday. Your child will bring home their weekly spellings each Friday and I will let your child know which multiplication table we will be assessing each Wednesday so that they know for the following week. Please help your child to practice their times tables and spellings.  

PE

Our PE day is Thursday!

 On Thursdays, your child needs black bottoms, a white top and trainers. Please make sure your child does not come to school in their PE kit. They must bring it into school in a bag, and they will have the chance to get changed in school. Please make sure your children's PE kit and uniform are clearly labelled with their name.

Swimming

Swimming is a mandatory lesson as it is part of our curriculum. If your child is unable to participate in swimming on an individual day, please speak to Mrs Beckingham at the classroom door and fill in a form. 

Our swimming day is Monday

On Mondays, your child needs a towel and a swimming costume. If they have long hair, then they will also require a swimming cap. They may also bring swimming goggles if they choose to, please practice getting dry and changed at home so that your child is confident to get themselves dry and dressed after our swimming lessons. We only have a short time in the changing rooms so it is important your child can get ready quickly. 

 

Spanish
